I can definitely
feel the affects of the rowing machine. Sheesh. I was only able to do five
minutes on it today. (Eight yesterday.) I hope that means it’s working. I was
able to keep up the speed, distance and time on the treadmill, but it was a
little harder today too. I feel like I’m being hyper-sensitive to every feeling
in my body. I’m used to having all kinds of aches and pains just from being out
of shape and overweight. These aches and pains are different though. I’m
working hard for these. And instead of making me feel depressed and want to go
lay down, I feel more positive and energetic. I was told this would happen but
I didn’t expect it to happen in a week.
I want
to try some abdominal workouts but I need to lose a lot of belly fat first. So,
that means diet. I have never dieted in my life. I know. It shows. But all the
way up until the age of 40, I never needed to. And then the weight gaining
caught me so off guard I kind of froze. And then wouldn’t allow myself to even
think about it. So, I’ve let myself go for ten years. That’s a lot to make up
for.
A
normal day of eating for me would be something like this: breakfast, a large extra
white-chocolate breve’ with two or three shots of espresso, or two or three or
sometimes even four cups of coffee with way too much sugar and half and half,
and probably no food. A sandwich and chips or leftovers or fast food for lunch,
with a glass of 2% milk or a fountain Pepsi.
And for
dinner, bigger than necessary portions of meat, usually chicken or pork, rice
or potatoes, vegetables, and some kind of carbohydrate; bread or homemade tortillas.
Snack before bed: cereal or ice cream or chips and salsa or some combination of
any of these.
I’m a
pretty good cook. Especially when I’m making some of the Mexican food dishes that
Juan taught me how to make. I just have to figure out how to translate that into
this: portion control and healthier choices. Less coffee, with less cream and
sugar. Less fat and carbs and starches, more fruit and veggies. Totally
do-able. Right?
Definitely doable! I found a pretty good knock-off Yumm Bowl recipe that is BOMB! I could eat it for lunch every single day! I've done some meal prepping for the last month or so... mostly bc of time rather than health motivation... BUT we figure we might as well make it healthy too, right? 2 birds. Lemme know if you want some recipes :)
ReplyDeleteKeep being awesome!
Yes, please. I for sure want some recipes! I've thought about doing meal prep and this is probably a good time to start! Thank you! <3
