I’m
really feeling drained today. I’m not sick or very sore anymore. I’m just
extremely sleepy and have zero energy. And my throat still hurts. I always have
a fan blowing at night in my room so that might be causing the sore throat,
although that would be weird since I’ve been sleeping with a fan on for years. It’s
off now so, we’ll see.
I went
to Planet Fitness mid-morning. They were busy today! Probably people trying to
burn off the Super Bowl beer and bean dip. While on the treadmill, I sped up a
bit but I didn’t push hard enough to let my heart rate get too high. I added another
ten minutes from what I’ve been doing, which added quite a bit more to the
distance and calories burned. I worked up a pretty good sweat. My knee started hurting
when I sped up too much but slowing down one click of the speed button seemed
to remedy that.
I’ve
been trying to make little changes in how I eat in my new quest to be healthy.
I mean, little changes. If I do anything too drastic, I’m afraid I’ll fail. I’ve
substituted 2% milk with 1%. I’ll try skim eventually. I’m using an 8oz glass
instead of 16oz for anything I drink besides water. I’m down to two small cups
of coffee per day, although I only had one cup this morning. The issue with
coffee for me is more about the amount of half & half and sugar I add to
it. It’s a lot.
I guess
the biggest reason I’m sharing all of this publicly is because I need
accountability. If quite a few people know what I’m doing, I can’t really just
give up now can I? I mean, that would be embarrassing. And if I get a kudos or
pat on the back every once in a while, that would be helpful. And if anyone
wanted to take me on a trip to Hawaii when I reach my goal weight, that would be
totally inspiring! 💕
I went to the Eugene Planet Fitness with Leslie last night and and a good workout. The stretching room is great. I kept it slow and steady and felt pretty good. Its been a while since we worked out together and I worried it would be just like when I went back after having Mal, but it felt great. I came home with energy to burn and I am so ready to go again. My Dr. told me I need to do weight training 3 times a week. So I do the treadmill and the rowing machine to get my blood pumping and then spend some time on the machines. I am pretty wimpy, but have hope for the future. Big hugs for the blog and the inspiration! Love you!
ReplyDeleteI'm wimpy too! But I must be getting less and less wimpy, right? I already have more energy on the days I workout and I love it! Let's plan a group workout one of these day. Love you!
